Liaison Program
Rowan University libraries has a subject liaison program in order to provide the best possible library service to faculty. A professional librarian with expertise in the subject area is designated as the liaison to each academic department. The librarians assigned to each department are listed below. Each academic department has also designated a faculty liaison to the library. If you are a new faculty member and are not sure who your departmental liaison is, contact your department chair.
Purchase Requests
Requests for the library to purchase books, journals, and other materials should go through your departmental library liaison, who will forward them to the subject librarian for processing. Be sure to provide complete information on the materials desired, preferably in electronic form to speed ordering.
The library now offers an e-mail alert system (Gobi 3) for newly published books in each subject area; contact your librarian to find out more about signing up for this service.
Curriculum Proposals
Proposals for new courses and programs are reviewed by the University Senate Curriculum Committee. The committee requires that curriculum change proposals be accompanied by a Library Resources form, which evaluates the need for additional library resources to support the new course or program.
Please forward all Library Resource forms to your designated subject librarian, allowing several days for a careful evaluation and for the dean of the library to review and sign the completed form.
Library Orientations
Rowan University Library Services offers a complete program of library instruction ranging from introductory orientations for new students to more advanced research workshops for upper level undergraduates and graduate students.
