Borrower Responsibilities:
Books charged out on a personal identification card remain the responsibility of the individual named on that card.
All eligible borrowers are expected to have a current address on file.
Books charged to an individual must be returned in good condition, without evidence of defacement, mutilation, or water damage.
Circulation Rules:
Overdues represent a financial obligation which must be met. Abuse of privileges may result in appropriate sanctions, including fines and denial of library services.
Materials placed on reserve by faculty members will be listed alphabetically by faculty last name in the reserve notebooks at the circulation desk on the first floor. Ask the staff for items by call number and folder number. Some reserve materials are subject to time restrictions. Any materials not returned within the designated time will incur a .50 cent fine per HOUR.
Fines:
Minimum fine is $1.00 per book. (Example: 1st notice - $1.00 per book; 2nd notice - $3.00 per book; 3rd notice - billed for cost of book plus $6.00 fine; 4th notice - referred to collection agency with library privileges suspended).
Overdue laptops, projectors, and screens incur a fine of $5.00 per day with no maximum amount.
Search Cards:
If you do not find the book that you want in the stacks and there is no record that the book is checked out, you can request a search to be performed by filling out a search card available at the Circulation Desk. A full search for a missing book may take as long as two weeks, but approximately one third of these books are found within one week. If you have not received notification concerning a search with 10 working days, please contact the circulation desk.
Photocopiers:
Photocopiers are located on every floor of the Library. The cost is $.10 per page; most copiers do accept $1 and $5 dollar bills. Some photocopiers are equipped with card readers.
