PsychiatryOnline is a web-based portal from the American Psychiatric Association (APA), featuring DSM-IV-TR®—the most widely used psychiatric reference in the world—and The American Journal of Psychiatry. Also included are electronic versions of top textbooks and journals in psychiatry as well as APA Practice Guidelines, self-assessment tools and medication information handouts for patients. The site is regularly updated – journal articles are online before print while new guidelines and revisions to DSM codes are posted when they are issued – and it is possible to search the entire portal at once.
