Friends of Campbell Library

Who We Are

Our organization was founded in 1996 by active supporters of the Rowan University community. A group comprised of current and former professors, employees of the Library, Rowan University alumni, and general lovers of books, we are all advocates of education working to make Rowan University’s libraries exceptional research facilities.

What We Do

We value all of the resources provided by Rowan’s libraries and support their frequent development through book sales and other fundraising efforts. FoCaL members work hard to fund programming, exhibits, special events, and services beyond the reach of the University budget. We look forward to South Jersey residents’ participation in special events such as Pajama Storytime and any opportunity to open the Library’s doors to additional support for its resources and services. We support the expansion and protection of Rowan University’s Archives collection, a comprehensive and highly unique collection of South Jersey and colonial history, housed in Campbell Library’s Special Collections area.

What YOU Can Do

We recognize the essential role libraries play in the education of tomorrow’s citizens and leaders, and proudly promote all resources and services Rowan University’s libraries have to offer, but we are always seeking ways to contribute more. If you, too, would like to offer cutting-edge technology, better resources, and more readily available information to our community, there are ways you can help.

Donate

Far away? Too busy to actively participate in FoCaL events? However much you’d like to contribute, we’re grateful for your generous gift. We classify our donors in three categories, and recognize them as so:

Book Lover($5 - $249)

Bibliophile ($250 - $499)

Benefactor ($500 - More)

To donate, please fill out our donation form.

Commemorate

We offer Rowan retirees and alumni an opportunity to commemorate their memories and the people they have shared those memories with. For a suggested donation of $75.00, we’ll create a bookplate to be placed in a book or DVD on the subject of your choice to honor a special person or Rowan memory. Make your commemorative book donation online at https://giving.rufoundation.org/default.aspx?Page=GiveInformationGift&DesignationID=6&AccountNumber=33.

Become a Friend

We’re always looking to make new Friends! To volunteer at specific events, or become a member of our committee, please contact us:
