Rowan University's six-story library, named for Keith and Shirley Campbell, is the largest in southern New Jersey. It opened in February 1995 and houses more than 350,000 books, documents and multimedia materials. The library provides on-line access to book, periodical and selected newspaper holdings.
The Music Branch Library, located in Wilson Building Room 113, includes a suite of rooms housing over 25,000 reference materials, books, and scores; 500 videos; 4,000 CD's; and several thousand archival 33 1/3 rpm recordings. Materials are fully cataloged and accessible through the library's on-line catalog. Subscribed electronic databases of audio resources, journal articles, and other resources are also available on-line. Books and print journals about music are housed in the Campbell Library.
The Stewart Collection is a unique source of materials on New Jersey history. It is named for Frank H. Stewart, who willed much of his collection to the college on his death in 1948. When presented to the college, it was the largest private collection of New Jersey history. It is the only comprehensive research collection of New Jersey history in southern New Jersey.
Rowan University's Campbell Library is a selective depository for U.S. Government publications, receiving 34% of the publications distributed by the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). Campbell Library is also a depository for publications of the state of New Jersey.
