Several types of equipment are available to Rowan University students, faculty and staff. The borrower is responsible for replacement costs and any applicable fees for lost, damaged, or stolen equipment during the check-out period. Equipment is loaned on a first come, first serve basis.
Advanced reservations are not available, but if an item is checked-out, individuals may place a request for when it becomes available. Requests must be made at the circulation desk on the first floor. A borrower may not check-out more than one of the same equipment item type at a time. Some types of equipment are available for faculty/staff use only, and some equipment types are restricted to onsite (in the library) use only. Please see our list of loan periods below for restrictions.
At the time of checkout you will be asked to sign a contract indicating that you have received all items included with the loaned equipment, and that you understand and agree to our policies.
Check your item’s due date online: http://library.rowan.edu/vwebv/myAccount. Choose the “My Account” tab. You must return equipment to the circulation desk to verify that the borrowed item has been returned with all of its components, and is in good working condition. All items must be returned at least one hour before closing on their due dates. On nights that the library is open past midnight, items must be returned before 11p.m.

* Laptop renewals are on a first come, first serve basis. Laptops may be renewed only if there are no other current requests. You will be allowed one renewal for four hours; all laptops must be returned one hour prior to closing time. Laptops overdue for more than 10 hours will be considered lost and replacement fees will apply.
The Library is not responsible for any computer viruses that may be transferred to, or from, a user's disk or network. Laptops are equipped with an operating system, Microsoft Office and other software found on lab computers. Personal software may not be loaded onto laptops. Users must save work onto a removable device; personal data will be purged from the system.
- 4-hour loan: $5.00 per hour; after five hours of being late, the item is considered lost and replacement costs may apply
- 3-day loan: $25.00 per day; after five days of being late the equipment is considered lost and replacement costs may apply
Lost, damaged, or stolen equipment
The costs of repair and replacement of our items are assessed by an IT technician. In addition to repair costs for damaged items, which may reach a total of $1,500, borrowers assume responsibility for a processing fee of $49.00.
Borrowers assume the cost of listed replacement charges for lost or stolen items. Replacement charges may be lifted on items considered lost or stolen if returned within 24-hours, but late fees will still apply.
