Accessing Online Resources

The RowanSOM Health Sciences Library provides access to thousands of online resources, such as databases, eJournals, and ebooks.  In most cases these are licensed resources and can only be accessed off-campus by current Rowan University students, faculty and staff, this includes RowanSOM residents and volunteer faculty.

Sorry, alumni are not eligible for off-campus access to Library online resources.  Please see the Library‚Äôs alumni web page for Library services offered to alumni.

Users will be prompted to use a Rowan Network Account (RUID) username and password to access licensed online resources from off-campus, download EndNote, and to gain access to RowanSOM e-Reserve readings.

For RowanSOM faculty, staff, students and residents this is the same account username and password used to access most Rowan University computing and network resources like Rowan email.  Your Rowan Network Account will be assigned to you for the duration of your enrollment or employment with the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.

RowanSOM volunteer faculty can also obtain a Rowan network username and password that will allow them access to licensed online resources.

RowanSOM faculty, staff, students, residents, and volunteer faculty can obtain and reset their Rowan username and password by going to:

If you are obtaining your username and password click the link underneath the "Username:" field that says "I don't know my username" and follow the instructions.  RowanSOM volunteer faculty contact the RowanSOM Library at (856) 566 6800 if you encounter any difficulty obtaining your username and password.  Volunteer faculty should NOT contact the Rowan support desk for assistance.

Linking to Library Resources

Off-campus access to licensed online resources is controlled through the use of the Libraries' proxy server that directs users to authenticate when accessing a licensed resource.  This guide shows Rowan faculty and staff how to create stable, proxed links to licensed online resources that can be embedded in course content, such as syllabi and Blackboard course pages.  Links to licensed resources must be routed through the Rowan LIbraries' proxy server in order to allow off-campus access.
