Construction Frequently Asked Questions

What is the construction outside of the library?

Construction is currently underway for the 28,500-square-foot addition to Chamberlain Student Center. The addition will have essential technology and amenities, large indoor spaces for collaboration, public events and activities, and a redesigned outdoor plaza.


When will the construction be over?

The student center expansion is expected to conclude in 2024.


Are the library hours still the same?

Yes, library hours will remain the same and will not be impacted by the construction. Click here for building hours.


How can I enter the library?

During the construction period, we will have one main entrance available, as indicated on the map. Click the map below to open larger map in new tab or window.

How can I get to the library from around campus?

  • Follow the signs at the crosswalks to cross Route 322 and use the map to find your path. The designated routes are ADA accessible and the most effective routes to avoid the impacted areas.

  • Pedestrians traveling west from Discovery Hall / The Wellness Center at Winans Hall, who are accessing Campbell Library, Savitz, Science Hall, Westby, or Business Hall, may walk west along the sidewalk adjacent to Rt. 322, and then utilize the circulation path to the entrance of the library.

  • Pedestrians traveling east from Savitz / Campbell Library, may walk east along the sidewalk adjacent to Rt. 322. This will allow for direct access to the Student Center, The Wellness Center at Winans Hall, and Discovery Hall.

  • Pedestrians traveling from the recreation center or north campus residence halls will need to follow Meditation Walk to access Rt. 322 or south campus buildings.
