Pivot, A New Resource for Locating Funding Opportunities

August 28, 2020

The Rowan Libraries have recently added an online resource called Pivot™, found on the Databases and Online Resources A-Z List

It is no secret to researchers at Rowan that competition to fund discovery and innovation is intense, and an ideal research proposal requires planning and partnership, not serendipity. Pivot™ allows research developers to quickly discover funding opportunities and partners that are interested in similar opportunities. The interface is intuitive and easy to use. It is designed with the ability to filter and refine initial results, and the content is constantly updated. Pivot provides the ability to identify and connect funding opportunities to potential partners at Rowan and elsewhere.

Pivot™ maintains a curated database of funding opportunities worth an estimated $44 billion with a large database of scholar profiles, drawing from Community of Scholars and Community of Science profiles. Depending on how your career has developed, you may find your own outdated profile from the Community of Science membership of years past.   You can contact the Pivot™ editors to update your entry to Rowan.   You can update and add new information for your own scholar's profile and remove research themes that you no longer want to pursue.

The Searching function provides access to the most comprehensive source of funding opportunities globally and helps you to identify researcher expertise from within or outside of your organization. Pivot™ enables you to add internal deadlines to critical funding opportunities and set up saved searches that can be run automatically on a weekly basis, so you receive alerts whenever new matching opportunities are posted.  You can also create groups for sharing funding opportunities, an alert network in your faculty or department Pivot™ group.
