Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Services
Interlibrary loan, or ILL, is a research-support service offered by the Rowan University Libraries. Through Campbell Library's ILL service, patrons can request books and copies of articles from other libraries, when these items are not available at Campbell Library.
Lending and Pick-Up Policies
Loaned materials must be picked up at the Campbell Library circulation desk within five days of receipt. Please note due dates on book straps and return all forms with your borrowed materials. Lending libraries determine loan periods and restrictions on borrowed materials. Please request renewals before the original due date, as renewal of loaned materials is strictly at the discretion of lending libraries. If an extension is needed after the due date, call the ILL department at (856) 256-4803; the lending library may allow an extension on the item. Disregard of due dates may result in suspension of interlibrary and Rowan University Libraries borrowing privileges and/or a bill for the replacement of each item. Items must be returned to the Circulation Desk; do not use campus mail or library book drops to return interlibrary loan materials. Photocopied or printed journal articles do not need to be returned.

E-ZBorrow is the preferred service for requesting books and other print materials (excluding articles) from other libraries in the area. E-ZBorrow allows simultaneous searching of over 50 academic library catalogs in New Jersey and surrounding states. A request made through E-ZBorrow will usually be delivered within 5 business days. E-ZBorrow materials are not renewable.
To connect to E-ZBorrow, log in using your Banner ID number and password. E-ZBorrow has its own online catalog. Requests are placed directly within its catalog.
ILLiad is our service for requesting articles and other materials not available through E-ZBorrow. Through this service, you may request DVDs and sound recordings in addition to print materials. Fewer member libraries lend these materials, so multimedia requests are not guaranteed to be filled. Most requests come within 5 business days; however, as this service pulls from libraries in other areas of the United States and other countries, requests may take up to 14 days. ILLiad article requests are limited to 10 items per person, per week. You must make a separate request for each article. Individuals may borrow up to 4 physical items at any given time.
To renew an item through ILLiad, you must log on to your ILLiad account. Select ‘Checked Out Items’ under the ‘View’ menu to see a list of all currently charged items. Press ‘Request Renewal’ for the item you would like to renew. You can only renew items before their original due date; if it is after the due date, you must call ILL at (856) 256-4803.
First-time users must complete an ILLiad registration form. Once submitted, personal information will be filed and pre-populated for all requests. Your username and password is the same as your network ID information (the same as your Rowan e-mail account name).
You will be notified if a requested item or article is available at Campbell Library. If you are unsure if an item is currently available, please check our online catalog or ask Access Services staff or a librarian.
ILLiad forms can be filled out:
- using the Get It button in most Rowan University Libraries databases (for articles)
- via WorldCat (for other print materials and multimedia items)
- directly on the ILLiad site itself (http://libra.rowan.edu/illiad/campbell/logon.html)
Enter as much information as you know about the item, including ISBNs and ISSNs if known. The more information you provide, the more likely it is you will get your exact request.
Remember: ILLiad requests will not be filled if Campbell Library owns the item, or if we have electronic access to the material. Requests for materials held by the SOM Health Sciences Library and CMSRU Library should still be made through ILLiad.
