National Library Week: Calendar of events

March 19, 2013

This year, Library Services will be working with other Rowan University departments and partners to demonstrate this year's theme:  "communities matter @ your library." We have put together the following week of events. Mark your calendars and join us!

Monday, April 15
Survey Day
Time: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Location: Campbell Library, atrium
This year’s Library Week theme is “communities matter.” We agree. The communities we serve DO matter, and we realize that we serve many kinds of learners and researchers. Please take a few moments to help us discover ways we can be more connected to you and to the rest of the Rowan University community. For your participation, you’ll be entered to win one of five Leed’s™ professional notepad sets.

Tuesday, April 16
National Library Workers Day
Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: Campbell Library, atrium
Celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and library workers. Submit a “star” to recognize a library employee that you feel demonstrates extraordinary service to the Rowan University community.

“Journeys” Art Workshop
Time: 4 p.m.
Location: Glassboro Public Library: 2 Center Street, Glassboro, NJ 08028
This workshop, provided by Library Services and Rowan University’s Art Education department, will allow the children of the Glassboro community to work with Rowan University students on the development of artistic representations of their personal journeys. This theme of “journeys” will help Rowan University and the Gloucester County Library System jointly celebrate our receipt of the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf award, an effort to promote an understanding of diverse, multicultural communities.

Wednesday, April 17
The RCA Heritage Program: Museum Open House
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Campbell Library, rm. 404
The RCA Heritage Program Museum will open its doors for its first public event. Founders Joe Pane and Jim Hemschoot invite you to explore the museum and find out more about the mission of The RCA Heritage Program.
