Open Access Publishing Support

Rowan University Libraries strives to contribute to and shape the future of open access by providing support through the following avenues.

Meet with your campus librarian for help with:

  • Understanding and retaining author rights
  • Meeting open access funding agency requirements
  • Identifying reputable journals and avoiding predatory publishers
  • Depositing works in Rowan’s institutional repository, Rowan Digital Works, or discipline-specific repositories
  • Creating data management plans and using tools like DMPTool

ORCID stands for Open Researcher and Contributor IDentifier. It is a unique, open digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher with the same or similar name to you.

Rowan University is a member of the ORCID-US Consortium, which enables Rowan-based researchers to connect their Rowan identity to their ORCiD account.

Rowan University Libraries has signed multiple Read & Publish Agreements — also known as Transformative (Open Access) Agreements — with top academic publishers.

Rowan University students, faculty, staff and affiliates who use a Rowan email address as the corresponding author can publish their research with an Open Access license at no cost, without paying an article processing charge.

Rowan Digital Works is Rowan University’s open access institutional repository. It preserves, showcases and shares the scholarly and creative work produced at Rowan University and makes that work freely available worldwide and discoverable through search engines like Google Scholar.

Rowan University faculty, staff, and students may submit eligible work to Rowan Digital Works by emailing rdw@rowan.edu.
